The
Work and Organisational Psychology programme group of the University of Amsterdam has a vacancy for an assistant professor position (for .8 fte). You will contribute to knowledge development and application within organisational and sports psychology. You will teach and contribute to Bachelor’s and Master’s courses in the area of sports- and performance psychology and work and organisational psychology. You will also supervise Master’s and Bachelor’s students during their thesis and internship and co-supervise PhD students during their PhD research.
The W&O Psychology group provides a bachelor’s specialisation, a master’s programme with four specialised master’s tracks, and is involved in the Psychology Research Master’s programme. Our Bachelor’s programme contains courses on teams in organisations, recruitment and selection, work motivation and health, leadership and organisational culture, diversity in the workplace, and sport and performance psychology. Our Master’s tracks are aimed at Sports- and Performance Psychology, Coaching and Vitality, Human Resource and Career Management, and Consultancy and Organisational Development.

Project descriptionThe vacancy of the Assistant Professor of Organisational and Sports Psychology at the University of Amsterdam consists of a package of tasks comprising the following four components: teaching (max. 55% of the time, depending on management and grant acquisition), research (min. 45% of the time), valorization, and administrative tasks.
More specifically, you will:
- conduct high quality research fitting the programme and the master’s tracks of our group;
- communicate about your research findings in high quality scientific journals, at conferences, and in practitioner-oriented outlets;
- develop, coordinate, and teach courses (incl. lectures, working groups) and supervise students in the Bachelor’s, Master’s (most notably the sports and performance psychology track) and/or Research Master’s programme of Work- and Organisational Psychology;
- co-supervise PhD students during their PhD research;
- actively pursue (inter)national collaboration within and between disciplines;
- attract externally funded research projects;
- contribute to the group by participating in research and teaching committees, like organising research meetings, being a member of the ethics committee or instigating teaching intervision;
- be active in translating your research to a broader audience and the field.
