We want to get the best out of science, others and ourselves. Why? Because this is what the world around us desperately needs. Leading research and education make an indispensable contribution to a healthy, free world with equal opportunities for all. This is what unites the more than 22,000 students and 5,000 employees at Radboud University. And this requires even more talent and collaboration. You have a part to play!
The Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, home to more than 700 researchers from 35 countries, is a world-class research institute devoted to understanding the mechanistic underpinnings of human cognition and behaviour in health and disease. The Donders Institute’s research focuses around four themes, connecting the four administrative units (Centres for Neuroscience, Cognition, Cognitive Neuroimaging, and Medical Neuroscience). You will be part of the overarching Donders management team. The team consists of the Chair, a Management Director and a Secretary. You will work closely with the Management Directors of the four Donders Centres and the Donders Officers (the public outreach officer and the graduate school coordinator). Your position is embedded in the Centre for Neuroscience (DCN), which holds the Chair of the institute during the years 2020 and 2021. English is the lingua franca at the institute. DCN is also part of Faculty of Science of the Radboud University.
Radboud University and the Donders Institute have a number of regulations that support employees in finding a good work-life balance. For example, employees enjoy flexibility in the way they structure their work, and parents are entitled to partly paid parental leave. On campus, day care facilities for children aged 0-4 years are available (next to the faculty buildings). Nijmegen’s good accessibility, extensive cultural offerings, scenic surroundings and historic centre make it a pleasant city to live and work in. We strive for a diversified workforce in order to shape education and research from different perspectives. This includes the active enhancement of staff diversity through various actions such as gender awareness trainings, special tenure track positions for minorities, and additional financial support to help women continue their research during maternity leave.
