This project aims to bring together practitioners and experts from across and beyond Europe to co-design, jointly pilot, implement and roll out innovative models for Science Shops (SS). In a previous phase of the project, together with our partners from Hungary, France, Spain, Italy, Bolivia and Tunis, we co-created and developed a framework of Science Shop processes aligned to the dimensions of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) and Open Science. In the current phase, we will develop training tools on participatory approaches, RRI and Open Science. For that, we will first identify the training needs of all the partners and next, co-develop training tools addressing those needs.
The position involves contributing to this research area for 50% of the time, and teaching in various courses offered by the Athena Institute for the other 50%. Your teaching tasks are embedded in the wide variety of courses offered by the Athena Institute and include workgroup coaching, assisting in course coordination and daily supervision of students during their internships in the research project the candidate is involved in.

• a MSc degree (GPA>7,5), preferably related to Management  Policy Analysis and entrepreneurship in de health and life sciences, Health sciences, or another master program related to the field of health and life sciences. Experience and interest in education or educational sciences is preferred
• have expertise in qualitative research methods
• preferably have experience in participatory approaches
• preferably have experience with education and development of educational material
• are open to transdisciplinary research work
• are a team player
• have some form of teaching experience
• write and speak English fluently

Fixed-term contract: 1 year.

A challenging position in a socially involved organization. On full-time basis the remuneration amounts to a minimum gross monthly salary of €2,709 (scale 10) and a maximum €4,274 (scale 10), depending on your education and experience.

The initial employment contract will affect a period of 1 year, with the possibility of extension.

Athena Institute, Faculty of Earth and Life Sciences
The position is offered within the Athena Institute, Faculty of Earth and Life Sciences. The institute’s mission is to study and design interfaces between science and society to contribute both to a deeper understanding of innovation processes as well as a responsible implementation of research and innovation in society. Athena’s research program amongst other focuses on analysing complex global health challenges, designing interventions and conducting participatory monitoring and evaluation research. The section presently has a position vacant for a Postdoc/Lecturer.
