Job description

EDLAB is Maastricht University’s (UM) Institute for Education Innovation, located at the Tapijn Barracks in the city park.  In the last two years, EDLAB has been developing and delivering a range of new Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities for teaching staff as well as further professionalization opportunities for university board members. These development activities include formal training sessions both online and offline, as well as more informal networking events and opportunities for staff to share experiences and learn from each other.

To support these training activities for teaching staff, we are currently looking for a new colleague.  You will work under the supervision of EDLAB’s Educational Training Developer to help us with our programme development and organisation.

We are seeking an active and energetic individual to help  in developing new training opportunities by engaging with stakeholders from across the university or more widely, and to be involved in the daily planning and running of these (online & offline) events.  This is a varied role where you will have room to develop your own ideas and you will be expected to take on the responsibility for diverse tasks, including those listed below.

Core tasks

-Identifying relevant input for various new training activities;
-Meeting with (potential) participants and trainers in order to develop wishes and ideas into             training realities;
-Assisting with the planning, scheduling, promotion and registration of a range of activities;
-Creating and disseminating promotional materials;
-Practical daily support for planned activities;
-Programme evaluation and follow-up of events;
-Contributing towards the future development of our Educational Services.

In addition to these essential tasks, this role offers the opportunity for the right candidate to get involved in the facilitation and moderation of live events, as well as developing and delivering their own (training) activities should they have, or be working towards the relevant expertise.  We are especially interested in candidates with a good understanding of the academic environment and experience in (higher education) teaching or training. Experience in student assessment, online or blended learning, Problem-Based Learning (PBL) or collaborative learning, for example, would be advantageous.
