Vacancy: Project manager professional learning (0.8FTE)

In the Strategy 2030, the TU/e opts for a focus on Challenge-based Learning (CBL), personalized learning paths, a strong interrelatedness of education and research and development of life-long learning programs. In the coming years, TU/e has the ambition to work on the stimulation of lifelong learning by helping students to develop their skills and attitude for life-long learning and development during their studies and to create lifelong learning programs to accommodate the learning needs of our alumni, the wider society and the industry together with partners.

As the project manager professional learning, you will manage two projects to create professional learning formats, profiles, and accompanying educational modules. Within both projects you will collaborate with other (higher) educational institutes and industry. The first project is in the Alliance with Utrecht, Wageningen and Eindhoven (more information: https://www.tue.nl/en/our-university/about-the-university/university-alliances-networks/), in which we have the ambition to develop interdisciplinary life long learning offerings on topics such as One Health, Future Food or Renewable Energy. The other project is the EuroTeQ Engineering University (more information: https://eurotech-universities.eu/euroteq-european-engineering-education-of-the-future/). Within this project we have the ambition with our European Partners to develop a profile for the European EuroTeQ Engineer and accompanying modules for professionals.

Requirements

To take on this challenging job the following characteristics apply to you:
  • You have a Master's degree in educational science, learning psychology and/or engineering in combination with experience as a teacher / educational developer
  • Familiar with the world of universities and (academic/professional) education
  • Proven track-record and experience in managing educational innovation projects and/or international projects
  • Has an eye for the business side of Lifelong Development such as market-oriented working.
  • Combine a hands-on mindset with the flexibility to combine multiple project roles
  • Independent team player used to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
  • Excellent communication skills (proficient in English and Dutch), analytical and organizational skills 
  • Well-organized, autonomous, flexible, service- and result oriented, deadline-driven
  • Is organization sensitive and understands the different cultures of the different alliance partners and their stakeholders

The General Affairs service is headed by the Secretary of the University and consists of the Executive Board Staff, the Executive Board Secretariat, and a number of units that are directly under the responsibility of the Executive Board, such as Operational Audit, Studium Generale and the Sports Center.

The Executive Board Staff is responsible, among other things, for supporting strategy and policy at the institutional level. This is organized in the thematic clusters Education and Research.





Terms of employment

We are offering a 0.8 FTE appointment. Depending on experience and education, the salary for a full-time contract ranges between € 3.746,- and € 5.127,- gross per month (salary scale 11 CAO Dutch Universities). The TU/e offers a broad package of fringe benefits, for instance a year-end bonus of 8.3%, holiday allowance of 8% and excellent sport facilities.

We are offering a temporary appointment for a period of one year, with possible prolonging for the duration of the project. Most likely, the appointment will be via EUFLEX (TU/e secondment agency).
