The Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) in Amsterdam is a Comprehensive Cancer Centre combining a hospital and research laboratories in a single independent organization. The group of van Rheenen works in the Division of Molecular Pathology. The Van Rheenen lab performs state-of-the-art research on the development and progression of multiple types of cancer, as well as regeneration and disease of various organs. Tools that are used for this research include intravital microscopy and animal models, to mimic and study this disease, as it manifests in patients, as accurately as possible. We are looking for an enthusiastic lab manager (HBO or University level) with animal model experience.

Project
The tasks include coordination of lab-related affairs, with a focus on animal models. It is also possible to become involved in experiments for which we use high-tech machines like multi-photon microscopy, flow cytometry, etc. 

We request a pro-active employee for the coordination and organization of the lab. We search for someone that likes to interact and collaborate with various different people and teams. You work and think at least on HBO level. You have great communication skills and know how to take responsibility. You have a background in either research or animal model and you have great affinity with the topic of cancer. You have a can-do mentality and possess organization skills. You actively search for solutions to problems, love multitasking and flourish in a team environment. You own a Dutch article 9 or 12 certificate and you are fluent in English and Dutch. The appointment will initially be for 1 years, with outlook for a permanent position. The gross salary per month will range from € 2.319,- to a maximum of € 3.774,- depending on your previous work experience. The terms of employment will be in accordance with FWG 45/50 of the CAO Ziekenhuizen (Collective Labour Agreement for Hospitals).
Your travel expenses will be reimbursed at € 0,08 per km (with a maximum of 30km single-way) which can be completed until € 0,19 per km at the end of the year by using our MKA-ruling – Flexible Employment Benefit. Free parking at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek is also part of the package. Personnel is stimulated to use public transport and bicycle and therefore we offer an interesting arrangement for bikers and/or discount on the NS-business card. As employer we contribute to 50% of your retirement at the Pensioenfonds Zorg & Welzijn and provide a collective discount at the health insurance IZZ and Zilveren Kruis and insurance for incapability for work.
