Multi-disciplinary team seeks excellent postdoctoral researchers to develop data-driven mathematical and computational methods for engineering problems. Candidates must have strong background and interest in working at the interface of numerical analysis, data science and computational engineering.

Job description

The Centre for Analysis, Scientific Computing and Applications (CASA) is inviting applications for postdoctoral researcher positions within the project 'DIMENSION,' an inter-disciplinary project funded by the European Research Council and by the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e).

We are a multi-disciplinary, international team of researchers developing data-driven computational methods to accelerate the simulation, optimisation and inverse analysis of systems governed by parametrized partial differential equations (PDEs).  The successful candidates will work on the development of dimension reduction methods to accelerate the assimilation of data into models and the optimal design of experiments, particularly for multi-scale materials.

Candidates must therefore have a strong background or interest in working at the interface of numerical analysis, data science, and computational engineering.  The project necessitates close collaborations with researchers from applied mathematics, computer science, and mechanical engineering.  Although the project specifically focuses on problems in materials engineering, the developed methods will be broadly applicable to a wide range of engineering applications.

At CASA, we offer a dynamic, supportive, and collaborative working environment, with colleagues strongly committed to helping each other succeed.  We provide many opportunities for personal and professional growth and will actively work with you to help you achieve your career goals.
