The department of Educational Research and Development (ERD) of the School of Business and Economics has a job opening for a Secretary for 0.8 fte.

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, take-charge professional that will act as the binding factor for the Department of Educational Research and Development at the School of Business and Economics. You will act as secretarial and administrative assistant for the head of the Department, other members of the department and the SBE Learning Academy.

In this job you will:

  • Act as the first point of contact for the Department of Educational Research and Development and the SBE Learning Academy.
  • Carry out secretarial duties: incoming and outgoing mail, telephone communication, administrative support, agenda management, etcetera.
  • Organize meetings/events, make minutes and monitor deadlines.
  • Collect, process and provide management information.
  • Monitor departmental and personal budgets and assist with preparing progress reports.
  • Carry out administrative tasks for the SBE Learning Academy.

You have excellent writing and verbal communication skills and can interact with a variety of people ranging from support staff to academic staff members to students. You are flexible and capable of multi-tasking. We expect you to be eager to learn and to be result-orientated. We are looking for a colleague with a positive and upbeat personality, who also fulfils the following requirements.

  • You successfully completed a relevant MBO or equal program.
  • Excellent English and Dutch language skills (writing, speaking, reading).
  • Experience in a similar function.
  • You feel at home in an international and complex organizational environment.
  • You will be able to organize your workload and set clearly defined priorities.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • You can reflect on your own performance and you use feedback in order to develop yourself.
  • Proficient using the latest version of the Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, e-mail and web searches).
  • Accurate and able to forecast what actions will be needed.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: We offer a 2 year fixed-term employment contract (0.8 fte) as a secretary. Intended start date is 1 August 2021. Depending on the development of the performance, an extension of the employment contract is possible.

Salary is competitive, depending on qualifications and work experience. The salary will be set in salary scale 7 of the collective labour agreement of the Dutch Universities (expected minimum € 2.329,- and maximum € 3.144,-) for a full-time job (38 hours/week). On top of this, there is an 8% holiday and an 8.3% year-end allowance.
