We are offering an exciting postdoctoral short-term position to prepare and write a consortium grant application to be submitted to the Horizon Europe call 'HORIZON-CL2-2022-TRANSFORMATIONS-01-5 Gender and Social, Economic and Cultural Empowerment'. This project is aimed at building a European network of academic and non-academic institutions to contribute to a more resilient, equal and inclusive EU. The deadline of the call is April 20, 2022.
The application, tentatively called 'Gendered privilege and exclusion: Preparing Equal Power Positioning to foster EU Resilience' (PEPPER), will trace current limitations of girls’ and women’s access to political, economic, social and cultural power of definition. The project will reveal and analyse the existence of difficult-to-penetrate strongholds of power in these fields, occupied by gendered privileged groups. On the one hand it will investigate the main institutional, empirical and symbolical
obstacles hampering access, while on the other hand identifying and crafting possible solutions, that are capable of achieving long-term transformation. The project envisions to work with an intersectional, multi- and interdisciplinary research agenda that derives from the three-dimensional theoretical and methodological approach of the interconnectedness between the symbolical, the institutional and the empirical level in order to spark societal change. Envisioned work packages are:
- privilege and exclusion within decision-making institutions (both public and private);
- gender-inequality in (early-childhood) socialisation and education;
- work, remuneration and poverty distribution;
- the new forms of work in the global/migrant economy and the possibilities and risks associated with them;
- representation in media and art;
- power hegemonies in times of crisis.
As the postdoctoral Researcher on the team, you will be the coordinator who takes the lead and who is responsible for the overall preparation of the application and the proposal development. You will be responsible for the communication with consortium partners and provide assistance in the identification and formulation of research questions and work packages, in close collaboration with the consortium partners and the Gender and Diversity Hub management team.
You will also join the management team of the Gender and Diversity Hub and provide assistance on other (research) projects taken on by the hub and by organizing our monthly Brown Bag Lunch Conversations.
