Job description

Would you like to help students gain international experiences? As an Administrative Assistant, you administratively support the International & Admissions Office with attracting more international students and facilitating experiences abroad for our own students.
The International & Admissions Office of the Faculty of Science is a dynamic and ambitious four-member team. We aim to attract more international students and  support our own students in studying abroad. As liaison officers we are particularly concerned with building a network of international partners.


We are looking for a proactive Administrative Assistant to join the International & Admissions Office at the Faculty of Science. You will mainly have administrative duties and provide all-round support to the team members.

Your activities will include:

  • Registration of Erasmus+ agreements and handling of files of incoming and outgoing exchange students.
  • Administrative support of admissions officers in the admissions procedures for Bachelor's and Master's programmes.
  • Scheduling admissions interviews with candidates for selective Master's degree programmes and assisting in the selection process.
  • Answering standard admissions queries of prospective Bachelor's and Master's students.
  • Organisation of events for international students.
  • Managing various mailboxes.
  • All-round administrative support of student recruitment activities.
  • Management of websites and brochures.

Requirements

  • Your educational level is senior secondary vocational education (MBO) or higher.
  • You are proficient in MS Office.
  • You have at least 4 years of experience with administrative work.
  • You are well organised and able to multi-task.
  • You have excellent command of English (B2) and Dutch.
  • You have the flexibility, willingness, and ability to work outside regular office hours.
  • You have the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
  • This position requires a hands-on and flexible mindset.. You will be introduced to the Osiris system, i.e. the administrative system that supports the processes at the International Office.
  • Experience working with databases, such as a customer relations management system, would be an advantage.
  • Fluency in the German language is an advantage.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year with the possibility of a permanent contract.

  • Employment for 0.5 FTE.
  • The gross monthly salary amounts to a minimum of €2,367 and a maximum of €3,196 based on a 38-hour working week, depending on previous education and number of years of relevant work experience (salary scale 7).
  • You will receive 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
  • It concerns a temporary employment for 1 year with the possibility of a permanent contract.
  • You will be able to use our Dual Career and Family Care Services. Our Dual Career and Family Care Officer can assist you with family-related support, help your partner or spouse prepare for the local labour market, provide customized support in their search for employment  and help your family settle in Nijmegen.
  • Working for us means getting extra days off. In case of full-time employment, you can choose between 29 or 41 days of annual leave instead of the legally allotted 20.
