We are looking for a communicative, enthusiastic colleague, who is able to work in this dynamic environment. You ensure that the library system and special collection system function properly (IT), are properly used and filled with collection data (process). You oversee the scope of the systems, you know the main features of the functionalities and you are a discussion partner in improving the functioning of the systems.
In addition, you are project leader of related library-wide projects based on your expertise. For example, think of innovation processes such as making collection components more visible in the web or improving the use of digital educational materials in the UM learning environment.

This is a structural position for 0.8 FTE, with a probationary appointment for 1 year. The position is classified in the UFO profile Functional Manager ICT level 1 (scale 10), expanded with tasks from the project manager profile.

The University Library is one of the initiators of FAIR@UM.
The University Library is responsible for acquiring and making available of the (to a large extent digital) scientific information sources (journals, books, data files, videos), the digital and physical learning environment of the UM, information skills training and e-learning advice, research data management (RDM) and other research support. The University Library supports several research related information systems. University, VSNU and (inter-)national funders require good practices for RDM. The University Library fulfils a supporting role in awareness and training, preparation and execution of RDM plans, storage, metadating and thus findability and accessibility of research data. In this field, FAIR principles are leading.
Working at the University Library is open, collegial and customer-oriented. The University Library closely works with individual faculties and the ICT service centre in order to reach an integrated approach at UM level. At this moment, the I-strategy for Maastricht University is set. This leads to new investments in research data management support, both in infrastructure and in capacity. Maastricht University aim to create a shared services team to support researchers in research data management.
