In a small enthusiastic team, you will be responsible for the technical support of the educational processes within the frameworks and strategy of the Tinbergen Institute. In addition, you will also play a key role in data collection, processing, and analysis. This is a combined role in the field of process support and data analysis, in which there is plenty of room for your own ambition and development.

Job description

In the role of Technical Support Officer you monitor the quality of internal processes and identify opportunities to (further) automate them. You also support the implementation of these improvement processes. An example of this is a more effective integration of our own information system (Knack) with the administrative processes. But it also concerns, for example, a better use of and connection to the university systems in the field of educational support and administration (timetabling, Canvas, Osiris).

Additionally, in the role of data analyst, you will have first responsibility for data collection, data processing and analysis. This includes analyses around alumni tracking and linking research publications from various systems. As a renowned research and educational institute, we want to closely follow our researchers and alumni. The data for this comes from various systems and sources. As a data analyst you will ensure that this kind of collected data is analyzed and made available for publication on the website.

Your main activities at a glance:

  • In consultation with colleagues, you will ensure further automation of educational processes. These include processes surrounding student admissions, course evaluations, timetabling and reports for committees and archiving.
  • In consultation with various stakeholders within the university you look for further connection with the education and information systems that the university offers.
  • You are involved in optimizing other internal processes by making better use of (technical) possibilities and further automatization.
  • You are responsible for data collection, technical programming, and data and process analysis within the Tinbergen Institute. You ensure that everything runs optimally and thereby, of course, also ensure the quality control.

Who will you be working with?

You will be working with an enthusiastic team in a small and informal setting. The Tinbergen Institute has a location in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The position is carried out within the Graduate school (Tinbergen Institute) and you will be appointed at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Your workplace will be both in Amsterdam (Zuidas) and in Rotterdam (campus Woudestein).

What’s in it for you?

Learning and growing is very important to us. We are therefore happy to offer you training and guidance to enable you to do your work as well as possible. In addition, the Tinbergen Institute itself is also developing rapidly and we would like to give you the opportunity to develop along with with us. Further shaping within your function towards other related tasks and areas of attention is among the possibilities.
