Job description

Are you a highly motivated technician with a background in cellular and molecular biology? Would you like to focus on lab management, implement new techniques and join innovative projects? Then this is your chance to take the next step in your career!
As experienced research technician, you will work on diverse projects in the field of Pharmacology and Toxicology. You will be responsible for the cell culture laboratories from the Department. Your experimental work will include cellular, biochemical and molecular techniques(e.g. cell culture, PCR, ELISA, IHC). You will assist researchers in different in vitro and ex vivo projects and you will act to maintain the cell culture laboratories at the state-of-the-art level.

Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic Research Technician with >2 years of experience. We expect the candidate to be highly self-motivated, able to work in a team and willing to learn and implement new techniques. Candidates should preferably have demonstrable experience with cell culture and molecular techniques. Knowledge and certificate to work with GMOs are required. Experience with animal work, histology and microscopy would be assets. Candidates should be well organized and have an excellent command of the English language.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year, with the possibility for indefinite period of time.

We offer a 0,8 fte fixed-term contract with possibility of a permanent contract after receiving a positive evaluation after one year.
Gross salary will depend on your level of education and relevant experience. The maximum gross monthly salary is € 4.078,- (on a full-time basis) in accordance with scale 9 of the Dutch university collective bargaining agreement.

The Department of Pharmacology-Toxicology employs more than 20 employees and ~10 PhD candidates working on different disciplines aiming at preventing and treating diseases. You will be working under the supervision of Dr. Sébastien Foulquier and Dr Matthijs Blankesteijn.
