Job description

The Brightlands Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (BISCI), part of the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management (MSCM), is looking for a motivated Project Leader.

As a Project Manager for BISCI you will be part of a growing and ambitious team. In this role, you will closely work with the Project Management Office in everyday tasks and support the Scientific and the Business Development Directors. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • To execute, monitor and deliver projects and if required also supervise internal staff based on project plans
  • Submit project proposals including resourcing, budget and scheduling of project activities
  • Serve as the central point of contact for the project environment and consult with clients, the project team and any other stakeholders
  • Monitor the progress of the project and inspect the quality of project as agreed
  • Develop research agenda jointly on Circular Supply Chains / Value Chains for the region of Limburg and beyond
  • Develop content for educational modules on circular economy and circular supply chains
  • Lead other researchers in order to carry out the research and education
  • Connect with BISCI GHG emission reduction ecosystem to understand product carbon footprint connection with circular economy and supply chain

For this role, we give you the opportunity to work partially from home, but in return, we ask a flexible attitude about the work location. BISCI has offices in Maastricht and Venlo and your attendance might be required over these locations. We are looking for candidates who can work with us in a fulltime position.

Requirements

You have:

  • A drive to contribute to the growth of BISCI;
  • Relevant working experience;
  • A passion for people and a passion for working in a collaborative learning environment;
  • Strong presentation, planning and communication skills;
  • A relevant school degree: MBO+ level;
  • Positive spirit and has willingness to be flexible to BISCI’s needs as we are a growing organisation without mature functions;
  • Good written and oral skills for expressing yourself in English.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 12 months.

We offer:

  • A fulltime position (min 38 hours, max. 40 hours per week) as a Project Leader in a highly international environment with an inclusive culture;
  • A position in a dynamic young academic institute;
  • Salary scale 10 based on our Collective Labor Agreement (CAO-NU), This implies a gross monthly salary between € 2.846,- and € 4.490,- gross per month (based on a full-time appointment);
  • Attractive benefits package, such as a pension scheme and allowances;
  • Max. 41 leave days per calendar year, with a fulltime employment;
  • A temporary contract of 12 months, with the vision to extend into a permanent contract;

Brightlands Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (BISCI)

The BISCI expertise and innovation centre started its operations in 2019. It is a part of the 'ecosystem' of Brightlands Greenport Campus Venlo, in which the business community, academics, students and representatives from various governments work together through open innovation and co-creation.

In this way, BISCI contributes directly to the innovation and competitiveness of individual companies and organisations in various sectors and helps strengthen the region’s economic infrastructure.

The Department of Marketing & Supply Chain Management (MSCM)

BISCI is imbedded in The Department of Marketing & Supply Chain Management (MSCM) . A vibrant international group of academics dedicated to high quality research and education with a strong drive for societal relevance. The Department consists of > 70 staff. Around 50 professors (assistant, associate and full) and lecturers. It also includes >20 PhD students, and a secretariat.

The Department of MSCM is committed to developing and delivering high quality, state-of-the-art education in undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs. MSCM is, like SBE, passionate about small-group teaching in problem-based setting (PBL). In all educational endeavors the department integrates research and leverages industry developments.
