Job description

Wouldn't it be great to work for the world champion of robot football, a place where we develop the healthcare robots that will change the way we work and live in the future? A place where we research and develop new ways of sustainable energy sources. Where fundamental research takes place into the cure of non-curable diseases. Or maybe it's the area of autonomous cars that makes your heart beat faster. All these and many other technologies and innovations are being developed at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e).
If you find it interesting to be part of this from a financial point of view, read on!

We are looking for:

For the Finance & Control (F&C) department, we are looking for a solid Business Data Analyst, who knows the finer points in the field of chain cooperation, process-based working and standardizing a TU/e broad view. The position of Business Data Analyst falls under the responsibility of the Reporting & Analysis department. This department deals with 3 categories, being: group accounting, analyzing and standardizing reports and setting up a management information system.

As a Business Data Analyst your focus area are all processes in the Finance and Purchasing system. You will make the link between the financial process and reporting needs, and to the possibilities in the finance system and/or other reporting tools. You will monitor the starting points of design choices for the finance system. The Business Data Analyst is able to understand the process, from input from the source to (cross-domain) reporting needs. In doing so, you strive for good cooperation, taking into account sometimes conflicting interests.

In addition, you advise the organization on converting information needs into standardized reports. For the purpose of management information, you will build standardized reports and develop further data-driven working within Finance & Control, such as process mining and data mining. You are responsible for automating and robotizing processes and actions. You translate policy into management information, and come up with proposals about KPIs and/or convert proposed KPIs into measurable values.

You are the first point of contact for the Functional Management of the Information Management Systems (IMS) department for changes in the Finance system. You regularly speak with the Information Analyst, who is the point of contact for the Finance domain in the Business Intelligence Cluster where the corporate data warehouse is monitored. And you move within Finance & Control on an operational and tactical level within your own BI reporting environment.

The focus for the first years will be on the further implementation of the new Finance system and the standardization of reports.

 Who are we looking for?
  • You understand the entire process from input to reporting needs, and how to convert this into clear standardized formats;
  • You have substantive knowledge of the processes across the domains. You are able to make in-depth analyses from unstructured data, and will come up with proposals for (Power BI) reports;
  • With your technical knowledge, you know how to be the linking pin from F&C to Functional Management of the IMS service and to the Information Analyst. You will assess process changes in the Finance system and translate the proposed reports into a new format;
