Job description

The Department of Finance at Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TISEM), Tilburg University, is looking for enthusiastic colleagues to reinforce its teaching staff in the areas of corporate finance, investment, or both. We welcome candidates that are seeking a full-time appointment, but also those that wish to combine their work in the private sector with a (part-time) academic appointment.

The finance department offers courses both at the bachelor and master level and is actively developing a lifelong learning strategy.  At the bachelor level, we introduce both business and economics students to the exciting world of corporate finance and investments. Our top-rated Master in Finance offers in-depth courses not only in corporate finance and investments, but also in Data Science and Sustainable Finance. We are currently also developing courses to be offered to practitioners that want to remain up-to-date with new frontiers of finance research and practice. We have a passionate and talented team of lecturers and researchers that are all committed to high-level education using not only proven but also innovative teaching methods.

The lecturer who is appointed will be involved both in teaching and thesis supervision. By default, our courses are taught by a team of instructors and you will become a valued member of several teams. Your tasks will not only include lecturing, teaching tutorials, communicating with students, and assessing assignments and exams, but also thinking actively about teaching innovation and its practical implementation. Most our courses are taught in English, which is also the communication language within our (highly international) department. In principle, all courses are on campus. To help you develop your teaching and leadership skills, you will have the opportunity to follow ample relevant training.
