Job description

TU/e innovation Space will start experimenting with TU/e professional education aligned with the education strategy of Eindhoven University of Technology. Are you the one setting up the experiments and bringing them from idea to prototype? Someone who is a hands-on project lead, talented in organizing, keeping track of initiatives and able to bring them to the next le

The position

Eindhoven University of Technology has made an impressive educational transition aimed at training future engineers, through the implementation of the Bachelor College in 2012 and the Graduate School in 2013. TU/e innovation Space is the Center of Expertise for Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) and student entrepreneurship at TU/e, a learning hub for innovation of education, and an open community where students, researchers, industry, and societal organizations exchange knowledge and develop responsible solutions to real-world challenges. The innovative way of learning is offered to more and more students through an increasing number of courses and extra-curricular activities, and evidence-based research yields first results. Also, the first pilots at the curriculum level are starting in close collaboration with Bachelor College and Graduate School.

Aim of Eindhoven University of Technology is to create structural change in education. This requires upscaling of initiatives and pilots to create a more flexible education system. TU/e innovation Space plays a central role in these developments, e.g. with the Comenius Leadership Fellow research project acquired in 2020. The team also starts new initiatives: TU/e innovation Space currently works on supporting entrepreneurial learning (with 4TU) and facilitating challenges with other universities (alliance with UU, UMC, and WUR). A next step is to develop challenges for a more diverse group of learners.

One of these groups is the professional learner. Professional learners are professionals from industry, coming back to the university to learn. TU/e offers some courses for professional learning, but aims to develop further in this area. Not as separate courses per se, but aiming to contribute to the life-long development of employees in the Brainport Region. This offer should be closely aligned to the university's education vision 2030.

To start experimenting with this type of offer, a lot has to be done: the target audience defined, a marketing plan created, processes for administration developed, pilots need to be started, experiments evaluated. As we always do in TU/e innovation Space, we want to start experimenting with this in co-creation with many stakeholders, and to develop a first program, test it in practice, and continue prototyping based on thorough evaluations. After this experiment, we want to know what works and what does not, to be able to scale up effectively.
Next to this, a lot of initiatives nationwide and beyond are being developed. One example is the Growth funding Nationale LLO Katalysator. In this nationwide project, all universities and institutes for vocational education will boost the education program for lifelong region in regional hubs. The Brainport region is of course one of the hubs participating in this program.

We are looking for a strong Project Manager who is able to execute the project and to build the infrastructure needed for creating offers.
