We welcome senior group leaders who have run their own lab to apply, as well as junior group leaders who have some years of experience as post-doc after obtaining their PhD and are ready to start their own lab.

Job description

Function of the candidate group leader

You will lead a research group at the Hubrecht Institute. You will run your group with scientific independence. Your research group will contribute to and/or complement the overall goal of the Hubrecht Institute to strengthen its unique position nationally and internationally as a center of excellence in developmental biology and stem cell research.

Hubrecht Institute

The Hubrecht Institute, a research institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), focuses on research in the field of developmental and stem cell biology. The Hubrecht performs fundamental research, which also provides insight into diseases, such as cancer and hereditary developmental disorders. The Hubrecht comprises a team of 20 group leaders with various, multidisciplinary expertises. The institute is affiliated with the University Medical Centre Utrecht (UMC Utrecht) since 2008 and has a partnership with EMBL in Heidelberg. The Hubrecht Institute is housed at the Utrecht Science Park. The institute was founded in 1916.

Researchers get access to state-of-the-art facilities, including laboratory space, advanced microscopy and FACS, single-cell sequencing and animal facilities.
