Job description

As a Junior Hospitality Officer you will be working for the Lifeport Welcome Center and for the Radboud Excellence Initiative (REI).
Responsibilities for the Lifeport Welcome Center
The Lifeport Welcome Center is a new service center for international talent with both an online location and an onsite location on Radboud’s campus, in Huize Heyendael. It is a regional initiative with partners such as the Economic Board, the Municipality of Nijmegen, the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND), and the Province of Gelderland. The Welcome Center was set up to support internationals working for Radboud University and its partners.

When internationals start working in the Nijmegen region, they not only start a new job, but also a new life in a foreign country with new people, a different culture, and a different language. This new start comes with many challenges. Together with the Senior Hospitality Officer, you will help with the onboarding of international staff and guests, so they have a good start in Nijmegen and feel welcome here. You will set up a social programme for international staff to help them learn more about living and working in the Netherlands and give them an opportunity to meet other internationals. This social programme will consist of social events, meetings, excursions, lectures and workshops.

Besides the social aspects, you will also provide internationals with practical and HR information and anything else they need to know before moving to the Netherlands. You will help them with housing, setting up a Dutch bank account, appointments with the Nijmegen Registry Office or the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND), and other aspects of their relocation. When they start settling in, you will advise them on local service providers, healthcare providers, sports or other clubs, and any other questions they may have. You will provide hands-on assistance when needed.

Together with the Senior Hospitality Officer, you will further develop the Hospitality Programme for international talent. In this position there will be plenty of room for your own creativity and ideas.

Responsibilities for the Radboud Excellence Initiative (REI) The Radboud Excellence Initiative is an initiative that brings the most exceptional talents from every academic field to Radboud University and the Radboud university medical center in order to strengthen bonds between universities worldwide.

Together with the Senior Hospitality Officer, you will be responsible for the nominees of the Radboud Excellence Initiative (REI) from the moment they have been awarded their professorship or fellowship. You will be in close contact with the nominees themselves, their nominators, and their HR advisors. You will inform all parties about provisions that are specific to the Radboud Excellence Initiative and answer any questions they may have. Also, you will organise social events specifically for this group, help increase REI's visibility and strengthen existing relations with Radboud's faculties and services, and with the secretary of REI's panel of judges. You will help set up an alumni programme for former REI professors and fellows.
