Job description

Do you have a HBO/HLO degree in forestry, ecology or a related subject? Do you like a job with a great diversity of tasks, from for example guiding student field trips to laboratory work and management? And a job in which you can learn a lot and fast? Then read on and apply!

We are looking for a technician who has interest, skills and experience in working with forests, tree biology, wood structure, forestry and related education. Day-to-day work will include a mix of education (demonstrations, student field trips and more), field work, laboratory work, laboratory management, data archiving and management, and website management. Flexibility and enthusiasm are key: there will be opportunities to learn new skills as tasks evolve.

Requirements

  • HBO/HLO degree in forestry, ecology or related subject
  • Good communication in both English and Dutch
  • Enthusiasm and ability to teach and work with students in both English and Dutch
  • Good knowledge and experience of trees, forests, wood structure, and forest management
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Having high standards of accuracy and motivation Willingness to be involved in field work and manage and archive data
  • Willing to contribute to other tasks and initiatives as required
  • Knowledge and skills related to forest science (measures, sensors, wood structure and chemistry, analyses, drones etc)

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between € 3.098,- and € 4.257,- for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 9). Additionally, a contract for 08 FTE can be discussed.
