Job description

As a grant advisor, you will support the academic staff of the School of Business and Economics (SBE) in acquiring grants and other (financial) resources to carry out their research plans and ideas. The grant advisor position offers sufficient potential to grow and further develop – matched to the candidate’s talents and ambitions. You will be part of a group of enthusiastic colleagues that form the Research Support Office of SBE.

In addition to supporting the academic staff in acquiring grants, the Research Support Office supports and advises the two Graduate Schools (GSBE and GSX) of SBE, which are responsible for the SBE research policy and its implementation. As a Graduate School, GSBE is also responsible for the training and supervision of PhD students, for education in the context of the research masters and for the quality control of, among other things, the PhD and research master's program.

What will you do?

  • Identify available relevant funding opportunities in the Netherlands and Europe.
  • Carry out, proactively or upon request, funding scans on SBE-relevant topics.
  • Inform researchers about grant opportunities and translate these into concrete opportunities for projects.
  • Support and advice researchers in developing grant applications (administrative, process wise and reviewing).
  • Review contents and administrative aspects of funding proposals, in the light of relevant subsidy criteria and policy documents.
  • Initiate, follow-up and complete internal approval procedures.
  • Provide information sessions to researchers, within SBE or UM wide, for the purpose of raising awareness of funding and tender opportunities, lowering the 'threshold' and increasing the chances of success of proposals.
  • Think along with and inspire academic staff.
  • Contribute to the SBE policy in the field of funding acquisition.
  • Maintain contacts with and consult funding providers. Maintain (inter)national networks, directly or indirectly related to funding acquisition.
