Job description

As an Education Coordinator, you will be supporting the Programme Management in the organization of the educational activities of the Bachelor and Master Computer Science. You will work closely with the Programme Directors, who are responsible for the content of these programmes, as well as with the Programme Committees, the Examination Board, the department's teaching staff and the Faculty Education and Policy offices. Further, you will have frequent contact with students, and you will collaborate with the other Education Coordinators and Academic Advisors of the Department.

Your duties

Jointly with the other members of the teaching organization, you will be expected to perform the following core tasks:
  • Provide administrative and on-site support to the Programme Management during accreditation and midterm site visits;
  • Coordinate yearly curriculum approval process;
  • Coordinate schedule approval process;
  • Coordinate yearly programme reports approval process;
  • Coordinate yearly study guide approval process;
  • Coordinate yearly Teaching and Examination Regulations approval process;
  • Provide information to teaching staff with regard to teaching activities and academic processes;
  • Participate in Program Committees and Teacher teams meetings;
  • Participate in the organization of Alumni events;
  • Coordinate the organization of Professional Advisory Board meetings;
  • Coordinate the organization of internships;
  • Analyse problems and suggest potential improvements with respect to the organisation and execution of the teaching activities of the Bachelor and Master Computer Science.

Experience & qualifications
  • relevant experience in educational processes and administration and information needs in higher education, preferably in a Dutch public university context;
  • a preference for (and possibly experience with) working in a dynamic international academic environment;
  • Bachelor's degree (any field).
Knowledge and Skills
  • advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint);
  • excellent English written and oral communication skills;
  • good Dutch oral and written communication skills.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year.

A challenging position in a socially involved organization. On full-time basis the remuneration amounts to a minimum gross monthly salary of €2,960 (scale 10) and a maximum €4,670 (scale 10), depending on your education and experience. The job profile is based on the university job ranking system and is vacant for at least 0.8 FTE.

The initial employment contract will affect a period of 1 year (0,8 FTE), including a 2 months probation period. After proven suitability and a satisfactory evaluation a permanent contract will be offered.
