As an Education Coordinator at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences (IE&IS), your focus is on planning, organizing, coordinating and presenting the educational processes of our Bachelor's and Master's programs. You do this in close consultation with the program chairs who are responsible for the content of the programs. This role requires close contact with students, teachers, and your colleagues from the Education and Student Affairs (ESA) team. Together with your fellow education coordinator, you are the connecting link between our teachers, students and colleagues in educational support.
Your activities include:
- Ensuring optimal execution of the courses. This includes coordinating the deployment of teachers, coordinating and organizing the mentorship, organizing the necessary facilities for education (such as the use of multimedia, ICT tools, guest speakers, excursions, student assistants), providing management information about capacity, shortages and change needs.
- The coordination of a number of non-subject-content teaching activities such as professional skills, RSI and wellbeing workshops, and English language skills certification
- Improving the organization and implementation of educational processes through the identification of bottlenecks and innovative proposals
- Coordinating, planning and ensuring approval of education programs within the department
- Developing and monitoring procedures for quality assurance
- Updating and managing the faculty digital study guide and the educational learning environment Canvas.
- Providing information to the students about educational processes via Canvas and other channels
- The organization and coordination of the kick-offs (intro meeting) of the various programs
- Recruiting and training student assistants for mentoring activities for the bachelor students
You will be part of the Education and Student Affairs (ESA) team of the Faculty of IE&IS. ESA is responsible for policy advice, education and exam administration, (exam) scheduling, provision of information to students, study advice and teacher support. In addition, ESA has tasks in the field of quality assurance, educational development and innovation. ESA employs 27 people. You will be embedded in the Education, Coordination and Innovation (ECI) sub-team. The ECI team consists of educational experts, policy officers education and education coordinators and consists of 8 people.
