At the FPN Marketing and Communications (M&C) team, we currently work together in
a close-knit team of five. We are looking to add to our team, an enthusiastic, optimistic and energetic Event Coordinator.

Job description

As an Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for (assisting with) the development, successful execution and evaluation of events (in-house and elsewhere) that contribute to UM and FPN strategic goals and targets.

Most of our events are related to student recruitment, internal and external communications, alumni and student life / community building.

Some examples:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s Open Day
  • Graduation ceremonies
  • Introduction Days
  • Q&A sessions
  • Experience Days
  • Week of the International Student
  • Alumni Perspectives sessions

You will (amongst other things):

  • organize Open Days for the recruitment of students for our bachelor’s and master’s programmes, in close consultation with Student Recruitment;
  • organize the Faculty Introduction week for new students, together with the M&C team and in collaboration with colleagues of the Education Office;
  • organize smaller events, such as Experience Days, Q&A sessions and the Education Prize (in collaboration with the Student Council) and give support with regard to e.g. Graduation Ceremonies & Alumni events;
  • be (co-)coordinating presence of and briefings for everyone (employees of other departments, student ambassadors, student assistants and student helpers, external suppliers and others) involved during events at e.g. at an information market or with regard to presentations;
  • work on all communication with regard to promotion and follow-up of events, together with the M&C team;
  • work on development of materials for event promotion or use during events, together with the M&C team;
  • propose new creative ways of doing things to improve events, partly on the basis of knowledge sharing with colleagues from other faculties and the central Marketing & Communication department;
  • be an active member of the UM-wide events team;
  • also work on office management activities for the Marketing & Communications department, such as preparing information bags, parcels for upcoming students, answering e-mails in the mailboxes of the department, scheduling of e.g. student helpers and other things.

What do we expect from you?

You thrive in a dynamic work environment in a role with many responsibilities. You have an MBO+/HBO education level in a relevant field, for example in Event, Hotel or Facility Management. You have a minimum of 1-2 years relevant work experience in the field of Event Organisation. You are an enthusiastic team player, willing to learn more about the world of events in an educational setting. Furthermore, you are in command of the Dutch and English language (written and spoken).

Your profile / competences:

  • A minimum education level of MBO+/HBO in a relevant field, for example in Event, Hotel or Facility Management;
  • 1 – 2 years experience in the field of Event organisation;
  • Enthusiastic and energetic;
  • A certain curiosity and willingness to learn;
  • Stress resistant and a hands on approach to work;
  • Flexibility: events also take place in weekends or during the evening;
  • An eye for detail;
  • Team player, with good interpersonal skills;
  • Fluent in English and Dutch, both in writing and speaking;
  • Organisational sensitivity;
  • Result oriented.

Conditions of employment

The appointment (0.8–1.0 fte) will be for the period of one year. With shown suitability after 1 year, this contract will be changed to a permanent contract.

The gross monthly salary ranges between min € 2,818 and max € 3,764. These salaries mentioned are based on a fulltime appointment. The salary in this appointment will depend on education and relevant working experience, based on salary scale 8 of the CAO NU (UFO profile Communications Officer, level 2).
