• a PhD degree, or nearly finished, in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Science, Engineering or a related field;
• experience with human-centered research methods (required: quantitative methods and statistics; desired: qualitative and design methods);
• demonstrated prototyping, computational modeling and/or programming skills;
• a vision on future research directions in your own area of expertise;
• publications with impact in international conferences and journals;
• experience with, or readiness to, supervise PhD projects;
• experience with and enthusiasm for teaching, innovative teaching methods, and student supervision;
• proficient in English, both written and spoken.

• An appointment as Assistant Professor, starting with a fixed-term contract. Following a positive evaluation after 18 months, this will be converted into a permanent contract. 
• A gross salary – depending on previous qualifications and experience - ranging between €3,974 and €6,181 per month for full-time employment (scales 11-12 according to the Collective Labour Agreement (CAO) Dutch Universities).
• 8% holiday bonus and an 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
• A pension scheme, partially paid parental leave, and flexible employment conditions based on the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch University.

Our Human-Centered Computing group is part of the division Interaction of the Department of Information and Computing Sciences, which is embedded in the Faculty of Science. Its departments work together to focus on answering some of humanity’s most pressing problems.

Our work is motivated by real-world applications and we have long-term research cooperations with industry (e.g., HONDA and the Netherlands Railways, NS).
