Are you a starting or more experienced teacher with interest in Clinical Psychology?

The Clinical Psychology programme group of the University of Amsterdam has two vacancies for teaching positions. Depending on your experience and interest you will teach the clinically oriented courses (docent 4) or contribute to the clinically oriented courses and bachelor and master thesis supervision (docent 3).

The Clinical Psychology (CP) programme group organises the introductory course in clinical psychology for first-year psychology students, the clinical psychology specialization in the bachelor programme, and the master programme in clinical psychology. In addition, the CP programme group conducts fundamental research using methods and models from basic psychology to investigate psychopathology and runs clinical trials to inform clinical practice.

What are you going to do

As a teacher in the Clinical psychology programme group you will contribute to a broad range of courses in the clinical specialisation of the bachelor programme, and depending on the on your experience, also in the master clinical psychology. You will/tasks:
  • Teach tutorials for clinical interviewing and therapeutic skills;
  • supervise students on bachelor and master thesis;
  • supervising students on their clinical internship;
  • Support course coordination.

Requirements

You enjoy supervising groups of (international) students, you want to develop yourself as a teacher, and reflect on your own skills. You have excellent communication and social skills and you can work well in a team

You have:
  • A Msc in (clinical) psychology or related field;
  • A minimal B1 level of Dutch, and a willingness to further improve;
  • Preferably experience in clinical practice (at minimum completed a clinical internship); and preferably completed a "basisaantekening psychodiagnostiek" (BAPD).
For the Teacher 3 position you also have:
  • At least 4 years of experience with academic teaching, preferably in clinical psychology;
  • Preferably experience with individual thesis supervision (bachelor and master students);
  • A teaching skills certification (BKO or Basiskwalificatie Onderwijs), or the willingness to enter a BKO trajectory.

Conditions of employment

For the 'docent 4' position we offer a temporary employment contract of 4 years (with 2 months probation). Depending on your experience, the minimum salary is €2960 and the maximum salary is €4670 gross per month based on a 38-hour working week, in keeping with salary scale 10.

You will be given time for training and development (DOP). The DOP is meant to increase the future employability of beginning lecturers after their temporary employment. During the 4 years, you will follow several professionalisation courses with your colleagues within the FMG.

For the 'docent 3' position we offer a temporary employment contract of one year, with the prospect of a permanent contract following a positive assessment and barring altered circumstances.

Depending on your experience, the minimum salary is €3974 and the maximum salary is €5439 gross per month based on a 38-hour working week, in keeping with salary scale 11, as per the Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities.

We additionally offer an extensive package of secondary benefits, including 8% holiday allowance and a year-end bonus of 8.3%.
