Job description

The junior researcher position is part of the research project "TIER2" (funded by the EU funding program Horizon Europe). The aim of the project is to investigate reproducibility across different disciplinary contexts and create and test tools to enhance Trust, Integrity and Efficiency in Research through next-level Reproducibility. For more information on the project, see the official website (TIER2 Project) and the full proposal can be found here: Rio journal.

About your role
The researcher will be involved in several empirical steps in the project. The researcher will collaborate closely with international partners from Austria, Denmark, Germany (among others) in the project and will play an important role in the empirical work (the conduct in futures studies, creation of tools with co-creation activities and pilot testing of existing tools in different disciplinary domains) and there will also be room to develop your own ideas and plans related to reproducibility.

The researcher will be part of the department of Ethics, Law and Humanities of the Amsterdam University Medical Centers, location VUmc, will be part of the Research Integrity group of that department and will collaborate with the department of Philosophy at the Vrije Universiteit. Depending on the preferences of the researcher, the candidate will also be involved in teaching activities related to research integrity at AUMC. We aim to create opportunities and if it will be feasible, we will explore if the research activities could result in a PhD trajectory.

Tasks
  • The researcher will work under supervision of the members of the research group and will join all activities organized by the Research Integrity group at the department of ERH in relevant networks (like eg monthly research integrity lunches at NRIN);
  • The researcher will co-design, preregister, perform and report studies relevant in the project, will participate in the organisation of the cocreation workshops and will organise part of the pilot testing and dissemination of the results of the project;
  • The candidate will be able to participate in educational training programs to improve their own research qualities and methods.
