Are you an all-round communications professional with international experience? And excited about helping international students prepare for their stay in the Netherlands? We are looking for a temporary Onboarding Officer International Students to help with communication, preparation and onboarding of upcoming and new international students at Utrecht University. You make sure new students feel welcome at UU, and are well prepared for their study time in Utrecht. Your aim is to reach admitted students before they arrive, making sure they have all the necessary information and can make an informed decision about their enrollment. You do this by presenting and hosting webinars as part of our student-onboarding programme, developing website content and copywriting emails. You will work in a core team of five international communication professionals, as well as in varying project-based teams across the university’s central department. 

What will you be doing?
  • You plan, develop, host and present webinars for upcoming international students, as well as improve our email communication aimed at prospective students.
  • You develop content, updates and improvements for our various online platforms and websites aimed at upcoming international students.
  • You make use of the existing communication channels of the marketing department, including our CRM (Azorus), pre-departure webinar series and Unibuddy.
  • You help organize online Dutch language courses as well as assist in preparations for the introduction period for international students.
  • You organize information sessions for international students during our open days, online and on campus.

Requirements

Qualifications
  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications or a related field.
  • You preferably have some experience (1-2 years) in a similar role in a large organization.
  • You have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • You are a confident presenter, both online and in-person.
  • You have excellent English proficiency, Dutch proficiency preferred.
  • Experience in higher education and in an international organization preferred.
  • You are able to keep track of multiple projects and can (de)prioritize accordingly.
  • You have a flexible mindset and understand the dynamics and internal politics of a large organization.
  • You are a strong communicator who can work effectively in a small but diverse team.

Conditions of employment

We offer a temporary position (0.6 FTE) for six months in an international working environment. The gross salary - depending on previous qualifications and experience - ranges between €2,818 and €3,764 (scale 8 according to the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) per month for a full-time employment. Salaries are supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3% per year.

The C&M management gives direction to the university communication and marketing policy, periodically adjusting it in close cooperation with the faculties and they develop new initiatives at university and faculty level.
