Tilburg University | University Services is looking for a Communication & International Events coordinator (0.6 FTE) for the Divistion Academic Services, Team International Office (IO), location: Tilburg. Period labour agreement: 12 months temporarily (with possible extension).

Job description

As a Communication & International Events employee you are part of the Services team within the International Office where you will be responsible for the communication and visibility of the International Office, both internally and to the rest of the organization and beyond. You are also responsible for the preparation, planning & organization of various events and activities within the International Office. This varies from organizing the Registration Days to the ENGAGE Summer School. You are the point of contact for this for other teams within the IO, but also for the rest of the organization (including the faculties, Marketing & Communication) as well as some external parties (including student associations, municipality, ABN Amro) and partner universities.

Your core tasks mainly include:

  • The communication of the IO through organizing meetings (on and offline) and contributing to newsletters from Schools and Academic Services. You build network relationships and ensure that the International Office is visible both within and outside the organization.
  • Organizing the Registration Days twice a year. This is an event where around 1500 international students are offered a range of services every year to be well prepared for the academic year.
  • Maintaining (and expanding) the network with valuable IO partners involved in these Registration Days. You investigate how we can make the work more efficient and how we can continue improving the experience for our international students.
  • Involvement in other (smaller) projects within the IO department that relate to our international partners. This includes organizing visits from (and to) partner universities.
  • Delegate of the ENGAGE.EU Summer School working group on behalf of Tilburg University. Together with eight ENGAGE.EU partners you are responsible for the organization of the Summer Schools that take place on a rotational basis at one of the partners.

Requirements

Your qualifications:

  • Has at least a completed bachelor's degree in the field of communication and/or event organization;
  • Is able to oversee and manage a large diversity of tasks;
  • Has good social and intercultural skills;
  • Sees networking as second nature;
  • Works result-oriented, accurately, and efficiently;
  • Is proficient in project work and has excellent organizational skills;
  • Can identify and give advice to the manager and other colleagues;
  • Can work with strict deadlines and is able to handle high peaks within the workload;
  • Has affinity with international students and working in higher education;
  • Has a high degree of independence;
  • Excellent understanding of the Dutch and English language in word and writing.

Good command of English is required for this position: CEFR level C1.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 12 months.

This is a position for 0.6 FTE (24 hours per week) of the full working time.

The salary is a minimum of € 2,979 and a maximum of € 4,093 gross per month for full-time employment, based on the UFO profile 'Project leader 2' and salary scale 9 of the Cao Dutch Universities.

Tilburg University uses a neutral remuneration system for grading that is based on relevant education and work experience.

This is a vacancy for a structural position in accordance with Article 2.3 paragraph 1 of the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities. You will receive a temporary employment contract for a period of 12 months. If you are proven to be suitable and continue in the same position, you will be offered employment for an indefinite period after this period.

You are entitled to a holiday allowance of 8% and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% of the gross annual income. If you work 40 hours a week, you will receive 41 vacation days per year.
