Job description

Maastricht University School of Business and Economics offers several Bachelor’s, Pre-master’s and Master’s programmes in the area of Business and Economics. For our Bachelor’s programmes there are several procedures (numerus fixus/selection, International Classroom) that belong to the tasks of the SBE Admissions Office. To be eligible for admission to a Pre-master’s and a Master’s programme, students also have to go through a number of steps in the application process and, in most cases, have their file assessed by the Board of Admission from the appropriate process.  

Your tasks:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the SBE Admissions Office (5 – 8 employees)
  • Safeguard the procedures your team is responsible for and ensure a smooth Applicant Journey
  • Act as the first contact point for the Student Services Centre and other departments
  • Informing different stakeholders about the admissions numbers, and procedures, and providing relevant admission related management information.
  • Being the faculty Key User for SAP Admissions, participating in recurring meetings, monitoring the system and contributing to system optimizations.

Requirements

  • Academic or HBO+ education and working level;
  • Affinity to work in a higher education environment and experience with admissions-/student-administration is an advantage.
  • Good command of different IT systems (MS Office, SAP, Document Management System)
  • Being able to look at the procedures and the system with a helicopter view, pro-actively engaging in changes if necessary Good people skills, experience with managing a (small) team is a plus
  • Strong communication skills in Dutch and English as the language of communication at SBE is English

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: We offer a contract of 1 year, followed by a permanent contract based on a mutual match and good performance.

  • The salary will be based in salary scale 9 respectively salary scale 10 (€ 3.098 - € 4670 gross per month based on full-time employment).
  • In addition to the salary, we offer an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% end-of-year bonus;
  • 232 vacation hours per year for full-time employment and the possibility of expanding this slightly and additional holidays;

Education & Exams Office (EEO)

The Education & Exams Office (EEO) consists of several teams, responsible for a range of essential tasks within the SBE Administration Office. The EEO handles the processing of admissions for the bachelor and master programs of SBE. This involves reviewing applications, ensuring eligibility criteria are met, and managing the enrollment process.

The EEO plays a crucial role in the smooth execution of educational activities, ensuring that students have a well-structured learning experience which also includes the planning and organization of exams and the graduation process. Moreover, the Education & Exams Office serves as a central point of contact for students, providing them with information, guidance, and support throughout their academic journey.
