Job description

Job Description

The Department of Cell Biology-Inspired Tissue Engineering (c-BITE) at MERLN Institute for Technologyinspired Regenerative Medicine at Maastricht University in the Netherlands invites applications for a postdoctoral position to join Dr. Silvia Bolognin’s lab. Aging is a major risk factor for many neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. These diseases are characterized by the progressive loss of neurons and their connections, leading to cognitive decline or motor impairment. Our research is focused on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms in the aging brain predisposing to neurodegeneration. We are also developing strategies to promote neurogenesis and repair damaged neural circuits.

The postdoctoral researcher will contribute elucidating the role of cellular senescence in neurodegeneration using different approaches including iPSC-derived models and 3D brain organoids.
