Job description

Are you a pro-active, service-oriented team player at BSc/MSc level? Do you have strong IT-skills and a sincere interest in student affairs? Then you may be the right candidate to support our BSc and MSc courses as our new Education Coordinator!

We are the Soil Biology Group, a team of professors, researchers, postdocs, lab staff and PhD’s from all over the world. We teach six courses throughout the academic year at BSc and MSc level, to 15-100 students per course. The topics of the courses are related to our expertise from soil, plant and ecological sciences. Your role
As education coordinator you coordinate our teaching activities and promote a targeted, efficient and high-quality education process and performance of our teachers. Your tasks include:
  • Optimization of course organisation
  • Logistics of courses (facilities, student assistants, schedule, course materials)
  • Maintenance and further development of the digital learning environment
  • Record and manage student data
  • Organize, prepare and record meetings of teachers’ teams
  • Support organization of course exams and assessments
  • Provide students with information about our courses
  • Exchange “best practices” among teachers

Requirements

  • A BSc (HBO) or MSc degree
  • Interest in student affairs
  • A proactive approach aimed at solving problems
  • Ability to keep oversight over all tasks and work accurately
  • Strong IT-skills (Excel and Outlook, preferably also Brightspace and OSIRIS)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between € 3,072,- and €4,640,- based on a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 8-9). This position is for 0.5 FTE. Initially, we offer you a one-year contract, which will then be extended to an open-ended contract if there is mutual enthusiasm.
