Your Adventure:
As our Network & Incubator Manager, you will wear multiple hats to enhance the entrepreneurial journey at StartHub Wageningen. Your responsibilities will span community development, hands-on support for startups, and network expansion.

Startup network management & development (60% of your time):
  • Cultivate a collaborative environment for startups through workshops, networking events, and knowledge sharing;
  • Facilitate communication between entrepreneurs, experts, and potential partners;
  • Explore innovative concepts for value creation;
  • Actively represent StartHub, promoting WUR startups in relevant ecosystems while stimulating collaboration;
  • Generate leads through outreach, networking, and industry events;
  • Design onboarding processes for new startups and spin-offs;
  • Manage social media in collaboration with the CVC communications team to create narratives.

Entrepreneurial Support (40% of your time):
  • Provide hands-on support to StartHub members, refining business plans and connecting them with stakeholders when necessary for the development of their idea;
  • Develop tools and systems to aid entrepreneurs at every stage of their development, in close collaboration with our CVC ecosystems lead;
  • Support training and education initiatives for entrepreneurs;
  • Supervise the StartHub student office and assist in community events;
  • Organize guidance for first-time entrepreneurs with an academic background.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with a strong background in entrepreneurship support, coaching skills, and a talent for creating opportunities in collaboration with ecosystem partners.

You are:
  • An excellent networker. You have the ability to build and nurture relationships key players in the startup ecosystem.
  • Experience with startup and business development, from ideation to validation and growth. You are able to translate complex scientific content to impact driven propositions and narratives.

You also have:
  • Strong communicator in different communication styles for student startup to national policy makers;
  • You work well in a high paced environment, being able to deal with a diverse set of tasks and irregular working hours;
  • Ambitious, enthusiastic, and results-driven, with strong project management skills.
  • Professional proficiency in Dutch and fluency in English.

Conditions of employment

Wageningen University & Research offers excellent terms of employment. A few highlights from our Collective Labour Agreement include:
  • sabbatical leave, study leave, and partially paid parental leave;
  • working hours that can be discussed and arranged so that they allow for the best possible work-life balance;
  • the option to accrue additional compensation / holiday hours by working more, per week;
  • there is a strong focus on vitality and you can make use of the sports facilities available on campus for a small fee;
  • a fixed December bonus of 8.3%;

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between € 3.226 and € 5.090 for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 10). Additionally, a contract for 0,8 FTE can be discussed.
