We are looking for an enthusiastic new colleague to teach in the English-taught Bachelor’s programme Global Sustainability Science and the Master’s programmes Sustainable Development and/or Water Science and Management.
Your job You will work as junior lecturer in the Environmental Sciences group of the Departement of Sustainable Development at Utrecht University. Together with your colleagues, you will contribute to the teaching and organisation of Bachelor’s courses mainly, including:
- natural science courses (for example, Mathematics and System Analysis, Statistics, and courses of the Water, Climate and Ecosystems track such as Chemistry and the Environment, Ecological Field Research, and/or Global Climate Change);
- interdisciplinary sustainability courses (for example Duurzame Ontwikkeling, Environmental Impact Assessment, Regional Integration Project, Consultancy Project);
- individual student supervision (Bachelor’s thesis and “tutoraat”). To develop yourself as a teacher, you can follow didactic training.
Moreover, we allocate 30% of your time to contribute to our research programme. This can be done by writing an article based on your thesis, participate in research of senior staff members, by involvement in educational innovation projects, or to reach out to societal stakeholders.
