Job description

Are you looking for an opportunity to contribute to exciting plant research? Do you enjoy being involved in different research lines and teaching (practical) classes? And do you want to do research in a multicultural and stimulating academic environment?

The laboratory of Plant Physiology is looking for a motivated lab technician to support molecular, cellular (imaging) and biochemical experiments. We study many aspects of plant environment interactions, ranging from salt and drought stress up to seed physiology. You will mostly be involved in our projects that focus environmental control of chloroplast development and plastid-derived signaling.
Your duties and responsibilities as a lab technician include:
  • Support the projects of PhD candidates and postdocs
  • Perform independent lab experiments
  • Perform lab management tasks
  • Assist in teaching (BSc and MSc level courses)

You will mostly work with the ‘Plastid Physiology’ team within the laboratory of Plant Physiology, which now holds 3 PhD candidates, a postdoc and a technician, but will grow in the coming year(s). The team is led by Dr. Charlotte Gommers. Furthermore, many of your tasks will serve the whole laboratory. This way, you will get acquainted with many of the research lines and researchers within Plant Physiology.
