Postdoctoral research position on Embedded Sensory-Motor Models for Functional Nerve Stimulation

Postdoctoral research position on Embedded Sensory-Motor Models for Functional Nerve Stimulation

Published Deadline Location
8 Feb 14 Mar Enschede

Job description

Stretch feedback is an important component of motor control. Impairment due to stroke, spinal cord injury, or multiple sclerosis causes non-cooperative movement and unstable gait and balance that deteriorates the quality of life. Within this project, you will work in a research team to develop a new class of neuroprosthetic interface that mimics the behaviour of biological stretch reflex systems to tackle postural stability problems. The project's scope spans multiple disciplines, with significant components involving computational modelling of neuromuscular systems and their implementation on FPGA-based embedded systems. Expertise in these areas and artificial neural network applications is required to achieve the goals of the project.
