Job description

The Utrecht University School of Economics (U.S.E.) invites applications for a Lecturer in Finance. Are you close to completing a PhD in Finance and do you want to be part of a growing group of Finance scholars, teaching courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level? Then we invite you to apply for this position!

Your job
You are expected to teach courses in various Finance areas at undergraduate and/or graduate level, and to supervise theses. Affinity with sustainable finance is a plus. All teaching is in English. A part-time appointment is possible for candidates who wish to combine a teaching position at U.S.E. with a position at a different institution.

Requirements

Successful candidates:
  • have or are close to completing a PhD in Finance (preferred) or a similar discipline;
  • demonstrate a clear potential for excellence in teaching different Finance courses at both undergraduate and graduate level;
  • have an excellent command of spoken and written English;
  • are in possession of a University Teaching Qualification or willing to obtain such a qualification.

Conditions of employment

We offer:
  • a fixed-term appointment for up to 4 years;
  • a working week of 28 to 40 hours and a gross monthly salary between €4,332 and €5,929 in the case of full-time employment (salary scale 11 under the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU);
  • 8% holiday pay and 8.3% year-end bonus;
  • a pension scheme, partially paid parental leave and flexible terms of employment based on the CAO NU.
