Job description

Would you like to create more impact and value with cutting-edge equipment and research facilities? You will be involved in the strategic development and operational implementation of our research facilities, enabling you to make a significant contribution to research at WUR and to the dynamics within the Wageningen Campus ecosystem. As an Account Manager within the Shared Research Facilities (SRF) team, you will have great independence and an excellent work-life balance and can count on a good salary.

Cutting-edge research facilities are an essential part of the innovation
and value creation strategy of Wageningen University & Research (WUR), in order to create solutions that impact the world's challenges. To conduct world-class research into healthy food and a sustainable living environment, innovative, state-of-the-art research equipment and facilities are necessary. Our team is positioned within the Value Creation department to coordinate investments in research infrastructure, optimise collaboration and create value. To achieve these objectives, we make research facilities visible and encourage the sharing of research facilities within our organisation and with external parties, many of which are also located on Wageningen Campus.

We are looking for an Account Manager who will work proactively within the SRF team to further develop shared research equipment and facilities.

Being part of the SRF team means being at the centre of innovation processes involving different people and organisations. Internal stakeholders include professors, researchers and Business Unit Managers from the five knowledge units within WUR and stakeholders from staff departments such as Finance & Control, IT and Procurement, for example. There is also a lot of interaction with external organisations, such as the business community (including start-ups and other SMEs), government bodies like the Province of Gelderland and the Ministries of Economic Affairs and Agriculture and organisations such as Foodvalley and OostNL.

The role of SRF Account Manager involves:
  • account management: acting as a point of contact regarding the sharing of research facilities for both internal and external stakeholders;
  • business development: further expanding our network of shared research facilities with both internal and external parties;
  • grant implementation: initiating and coordinating investments in shared research equipment and facilities;
  • developing a long-term strategy for WUR together with SRF colleagues, to generate maximum impact and value from research facilities;
  • coordinating the process from ideation to realisation of research facilities at WUR by involving and connecting all relevant stakeholders;
  • (jointly) designing and organising meetings and communications around SRF.
