Job description
The IT Business Consultants team at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) is the go-to partner for the digitalisation initiatives at our school. As our newest business consultant, you work closely with all the departments at RSM. You collaborate with them to innovate and digitalise both support and work processes.

Your main tasks:
  • Work with RSM departments to articulate demand for process improvements and IT innovations and help make business cases for those innovations.
  • Collaborate with information managers to complete strategic IT innovation projects.
  • Identify the right solutions for the innovation and digitalisation needs.
  • Organise business and IT to successfully implement these solutions.
  • Go the extra mile to ensure RSM is successful in these initiatives, both in the short term (delivering on projects) and the long term (optimising business value of these innovations).
  • Bridge business and IT.

Requirements

For this position you need to have:
  • completed at least a bachelor level (Dutch hbo-degree) education in business informatics, business administration, information management or similar;
  • business insights and IT affinity to where you understand business management challenges and provide solutions from a multidisciplinary viewpoint;
  • experience in IT project management and solution implementations and a project management certification;
  • knowledge of application management organisation and procedures (BiSL);
  • strong communication skills and the ability to effectively manage and facilitate groups;
  • excellent stakeholder management skills; and
  • excellent command of the Dutch and English language (CEFR C1).

Preferably, you also possess experience with:
  • agile methodologies, such as Scrum;
  • process-, information- and IT-architecture;
  • multiple IT-platforms (Microsoft knowledge is a plus);
  • platforms for education and learning;
  • higher education institutions and their processes;
  • process optimisation skills, such as Lean;
  • IT demand management, including designing and managing SLAs.

Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of € 3,226 (scale 10 CAO NU) up to a maximum of € 5,929 gross per month (scale 11 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours.

Erasmus University has attractive employment conditions, which include a holiday allowance of 8 per cent, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent, and a considerate amount of vacation days.

Department

As IT business consultant at RSM EUR, you are one of eight business consultants in this team of the RSM Digitalisation & Information Services department. Next to business consultancy, RDIS delivers research software engineering and consulting, customised software, and functional application support for our business lines. Demand management, IT purchasing and ordering, information management and the privacy officer are also in this department. The whole team consists of 20 staff and RDIS is known as a professional and caring department.
