Employer

Radboudumc

The department of Medical Microbiology (MMB) employs approximately 160 members for patient care, research and training. About a third of these colleagues work in research, divided in 8 research groups working on different aspects of infectious diseases. MMB research covers a spectrum of topics: from molecular mechanisms and vector biology to clinical studies at Radboudumc and in Africa.

Almost all research at MMB is externally funded. The most important funders are the EU, NWO, ZonMW and foundations such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. As the project landscape is complex, the scientific and project management teams work closely together. Tasks and competencies are clearly defined and we foster a goal-oriented and open discussion culture.

You will be affiliated with the research group of Benjamin Mordmüller to manage projects with a clinical focus, including the OptiViVax project. For overarching research management tasks, you will become a member of the MMB Research Unit headed by Annemieke Jansens. The Research Unit is the department's central hub for all activities related to research project management and clinical trial registration. By this means you will contribute to the work of all MMB principal investigators and work closely with colleagues from our financial, legal and HR departments, as well as the Radboudumc grant support office.
