Come join the dynamic, fast-growing Political History group in the Department of History and Art History at Utrecht University as a lecturer!

Functieomschrijving

We are looking for applicants specialised in contemporary political history who can contribute to teaching, research, as well as organisation and outreach of the section of political history within the department of History and Art History.

Wat ga je doen?
As a lecturer in the Political History section of the Department of History and Art History, you will be responsible for teaching a wide range of courses at all levels of the BA Geschiedenis and the BA History.

You will be responsible for teaching broad survey courses such as “Introduction to Ancient History” or “Contemporary History,” more theoretical- and skills-focused courses such as “Theory of History” and “Writing Skills for Historians,” and thesis and internship supervision.

Teaching a seminar group will form the largest part of your work, and you will do this in a team and under the supervision of a course coordinator. As a seminar group teacher, you are also responsible for marking assignments and exams. Together with your colleagues, you provide small-scale and activating education and guide students in their learning process. Although we look for teachers who are versatile, we determine in consultation with you, which courses best suit your background and knowledge.
