The increase in data and AI activities, the connection of imaging, flow cytometry and omics core facilities (genomics, proteomics, metabolomics) within the Amsterdam UMC and the critical role of data management in research consortia and infrastructure grants require an established FAIR data expert embedded within the Amsterdam UMC imaging, flow cytometry, and omics core facilities (CFs). Specific tasks include:
- Developing policies and procedures for data and knowledge integration across the CFs.
- Coordinating the efforts of the CF data node in close relation to the compute node, the CF managers, ICT and Research support.
- Coordinating the design and implementation of a local infrastructure linked to (inter)national research infrastructures with focus on scientific reusability for data, using Data Science and AI methods to exploit FAIR data, and accelerate knowledge discovery, FAIR Data, workflows and provenance for reproducible research and explainable AI.
- Ensuring policies and implementation are in-line with the FAIR principles and the broader integration efforts in the FAIR data landscape (National/European and Global infrastructure initiatives).
- Developing training strategies to facilitate the adoption of FAIR practices amongst CF users.
