Job description

The Admissions and Education Officer is responsible for the admission process of MSM’s Master Students, ensuring that each candidate (customer) has a positive experience during their application process, via a customer-centric, supportive approach. The Officer is also responsible for reviewing all applications for MSM’s Master programs, and making his/her recommendations on the eligibility of the applicant. Additionally, follow-up calls once the applicant is admitted, preparing the necessary documents to help the student arrive safely in the Netherlands, reviewing MSM’s partner admissions applications are also part of the job. Finally, the Enrollment Team has an “all-hands-on-deck” approach, and in this way, supporting one another in various other activities such as recruitment, student services, career services and alumni services, is also part of the role. More information can be found in the task descriptions here below. The Admissions and Education Officer reports directly to the Manager Enrollment and Career Services.

Your main responsibilities will be:
  • Responsible for the entire admissions process for all MSM Master’s and Summer School programmes, including thorough verification checks, document analysis and credential evaluation; SAP applications;
  • Ensuring an excellent student experience: develop good relationships with students, provide advice and support from A to Z until the start of the programme;
  • Ensuring students meet immigration service (IND) requirements and coordinating the Student Permit process for non-EU students;
  • Cooperating effectively with international agents and MSM partner institutes regarding the admission of students;
  • Ensuring a neat administration by maintaining MSM’s Full Fabric (CRM system) along with other Officers and gathering and analysing data for accreditation purposes;
  • Reporting progress, identifying changes, challenges, and opportunities in the procedures and pro-actively develop proposals for improvement;
  • Supporting activities (events, fairs, workshops, calls) of or advising the Enrolment Team, the Global Education Programmes Department and/ or the Management Team where needed.

Requirements

You have at least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and have at least 2-3 years of working experience in a similar position. You have full proficiency in English. Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.

Furthermore you:
  • Have experience with international higher education systems and standards;
  • Have experience with Nuffic and the IND as well as experience with or knowledge of scholarship programs for supporting the internationalisation of Dutch Higher Education, is an advantage;
  • Are able to work with peak seasons and meeting deadlines;
  • Have computer literacy in MS Office applications, CRM systems; SAP knowledge is a plus;
  • Have excellent administrative skills.

What we offer
As an Admissions and Education Officer at The School of Business and Economics, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:
  • Good employment conditions. The position is graded in scale 8 according to UFO profile Internationalisation Officer, with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from € 3.072,00 and € 4.103,00 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
  • An employment contract for a period of 12 months with a scope of 1.0 FTE. Upon proven suitability, the employment contract will be converted to an indefinite contract.
  • At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.
