Job description

Context

The Atmospheric Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel (ABLWT) is one of the research laboratories of the Built Environment department at Eindhoven University of Technology. The closed-circuit WT has a total length of 46 m and a test section length of 27 m. The test section is 3 m wide and 2 m high. Tests can be conducted at reference velocities ranging from 0 - 30 m/s.

It is the ambition of the department to contribute to a sustainable, future-proof, safe and healthy Built Environment. Therefore, at the ABLWT, experimental research is conducted in the field of Wind Engineering. Measurements of wind speed and turbulence around buildings can help to improve safety and comfort in buildings and complex urban areas. By analyzing the dispersion of air pollution, you can contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment. The WT is also fully equipped to optimize the aerodynamics of athletes, transport, and racing vehicles, to determine wind loads on ships or buildings and improve wind energy solutions. More information on the facility can be found here.
