Job description

In this role, you ensure that the processes and policies of the Quality Assurance system and cycle are implemented and improved, and have overall responsibility for the quality control cycle.To this end, you assess whether the design of our QA system gives optimal insights into our educational quality. Using the results of feedback sessions, surveys, annual reports and 5-year audits, you analyse which aspects are performing well and which not so well, and identify trends that may be useful to incorporate.

You are part of the Education Support team and work with colleagues as well as with teaching staff in the faculties and the faculty coordinators. You also work closely with the policy officer to introduce new policies and raise the quality of our education offering.  

You provide advice on the improvement of courses and short programmes on the basis of qualitative and quantitative data. You ensure that our education products are learner centered and inclusive. You facilitate relevant internal stakeholders in recognising this as well. 

You will be responsible for requesting and maintaining external accreditations with relevant professional bodies.

You will also follow European developments in the field of Microcredentials and will integrate these in our quality framework.

When required, you also connect with the advisory board and quality assurance board in cases of fraud or educational related complaints, and overall act as a valuable connector between numerous stakeholders in the field of quality assurance and the Management Team of Extension School.

The successful candidate is expected to perform 60% of their work duties at the TU Delft campus.

Requirements

  • Degree in Education Sciences (or a similar)
  • Proven experience in educational quality assurance, preferrably in Higher Education.
  • Affinity with (online) continuing education.
  • Experience with education quality control, ICT tools for education and online teaching methods. 
  • Able to proactively provide guidance and advice for professionals, with proven experience of working on a project basis matured through prior work and/or education. 
  • Experience with process-oriented working approach is an advantage
  • Persuasive with sensitivity: using the right arguments and examples for the specific stakeholders to get buy-in.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and preferably in Dutch (or willingness to learn Dutch).
  • Analytical, data-driven, able to put things into perspective, self-reliant and goal-oriented.
  • You are sensitive to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion topics. 

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year.

  • Duration of contract is 1 year with prospect for extension.
  • A job of 32-40 hours per week. 
  • A salary based on scale 10 of the CAO for Dutch Universities with a minimum of €3.226 and a maximum of €5.090 gross per month based on a fulltime contract (38 hours), plus 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.

University Corporate Office - Extension School

‘To educate the world and enhance the quality of campus and online education’ is the mission of the TU Delft Extension School for Continuing Education. A mission that has guided all activities of our innovation-oriented organisation since its foundation in 2014.

We focus on online continuing education. Together with the TU Delft faculties and external partners, we create and deliver courses and short programs that help learners at various stages of their professional life. We help them stay on top of their game, whether they are looking to change career, broaden their skillset, or acquire further academic qualifications. Think of international graduates who want to develop further through online education, and of people who have been in the labour market for a while and want to brush up on their skills and take the next step. Upon completion, our learners receive an official certificate for the educational module(s) they have taken.

The Extension School is part of the University Corporate Office and reports directly to the Executive Board. Our international team of about forty skilled, passionate colleagues comprises over ten different nationalities - Our culture is inclusive and very diverse!
