Job description

Are you excited and motivated to work with participatory bodies and to be the main link between the University Council and the Erasmus University? Then this could be a great opportunity for you. The University Council is looking for a Student Assistent in Marketing and/or Communication. This function can be operated separately (two persons, each one day a week) or combined (one person for two days a week), depending on your availability. Both functions work closely with the chair and clerk of the University Council and very closely with each other. Also, you will collaborate with other teams within EUR, such as central M&C and the central election office.

Job description
As the Student Asisstent Marketing for the University Council, you will manage the UC website and social media. You oversee the promotion of all events and updates from the UC. Designing skills and affinity with social media is a prerequisite in this position, as the managing of the Erasmus University Council website, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram are the responsibility of the Marketing Officer. Being comfortable with making videos and designing promotional material (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) is definitely an advantage.

As the Student Assistent Communication for the University Council, you are responsible for the organizational activities (Event planning). You will facilitate trainings and activities for the council members, and from the council towards the community. The Student Assistent Communication is also in charge of organizing the different training opportunities of the council, including their onboarding, and other team-building and organizational activities (Event planning). Additionally, you serve as a point of contact between various Erasmus institutes, such as Erasmus MC, ISS and EUC.

Requirements

Main requirements for a successful candidate(s)
  • Being a student at EUR (BA2, BA3, or Master student)
  • Excellent communicative skills (writing, speaking) in English. Dutch would be a plus, but it is not a requirement.
  • Flexible hours of working and time management skills (besides your regular load of studies, you must be available to the Council for 8-16 hours a week)
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills
  • Designing and affinity with social media and communication (Marketing officer)
  • Proactive and presentation skills
  • Organizational experience (for instance, participation in boards or committees)
  • Knowledge of the governance structure of the EUR.

Conditions of employment

We offer you an internationally oriented and varied job in an enthusiastic team, with excellent working conditions in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU).

The start date of this position is 17-JUL-2024 and you will be based at [class.26087] in General Management Directorate (ABD). This position is for 0.2 fte - 0.4 fte. The salary is dependent on your experience and knowledge and ranges from a minimum of € 2.618 to a maximum of € 2.846 gross per month Scale Student Assistant on a fulltime basis (38 hours), in accordance with the CAO-NU. The contract is entered into for the duration of one year and can be converted into a permanent contract if performance is good and the organizational circumstances remain unchanged.
