Job description

Are you passionate about developing and implementing novel eHealth technologies to improve the well-being of individuals with osteoarthritis (OA)? Join our multidisciplinary team to work on the LoaD project (NWA-ORC 2020/21) that aims to offer individuals with OA personalized advice on their daily living activity based on different types of data (multimodal data).

At the University of Twente- Biomedical Signals and Systems (BSS) group we focus on developing a smart eHealth buddy that provides smart coaching strategies based on personalized monitoring. Our work package (WP4) elucidates how to develop measurement tools and coaching and feedback strategies. To do so we will build upon the work conducted in other work packages to ultimately get a holistic picture of the patient that will be used for the recommendation, coaching, and advice to be developed and tested in small-scale studies. Larger scale studies on usability and clinical trials will be performed in WP5. The objective of WP5 is to develop and evaluate a care pathway for newly developed eHealth applications using personalized feedback and coaching strategies.

As a Post-Doc your task would be to identify promising coaching strategies and to develop just-in-time coaching content to support patients with their daily life decisions. Together with a PhD and PDeng student, you would be involved in developing the first prototype of the eHealth solution and evaluating its usability among end-users. After the development of the prototype, you would be involved in the implementation of the eHealth solution. This includes the development of a new care pathway. For your work, you would be involved in conducting focus group sessions, think-aloud sessions, and small pilot studies.
