Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, analytical, and proactive postdoc to work on the research project  "Unraveling the Impacts of Using Alternative Raw Materials in Industrial Clusters". You will work together with Prof Ramírez and three Ph.D. students to further develop a bottom-up model that allows assessing the system impacts of using alternative sources of carbon (biomass, CO2, waste) to replace fossil fuels in existing chemical industries. The project aims to understand how existing interconnections within and between processes could block or drive the use of alternative carbon sources in industrial clusters. This is a knowledge gap that needs to be addressed if we are to move towards a fossil fuel free chemical industry in the future. Your work will aim to explore new modeling strategies to study the transformation of chemical industrial clusters, thereby contributing to the development of new insights and knowledge to guide the transition of the industrial sector in the coming decades. You will be part of the research group lead by prof Andrea Ramirez on industrial defossilization. The group is part of the Process System Engineering section (department of Chemical Engineering) at TU Delft.
