Job description

University College Tilburg 

The Liberal Arts and Sciences bachelor program at University College Tilburg is a selective, broad interdisciplinary bachelor program with more than 300 students. The program currently offers about 65 intensive courses in small-scale formats where lecturers from all the five schools of Tilburg University contribute to the program. 

In your role as program manager, you closely cooperate with and function as a sparring partner for the dean of the college on the curriculum and the future directions for the university college. You become part of the management team of University College Tilburg (approximately 10fte). A policy advisor, coordinator operations and management assistant support in the daily management of University College Tilburg. You also work in close collaboration with the Education Support Team and directors of other programs of the Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences.

You will be responsible for 

  • Implementing the vision for UCT and Schools and university policies into the program
  • Monitoring the quality, the content, and execution of the curriculum
  • Develop proposals for improving various aspects of the program (e.g., curriculum, quality, selection processes)
  • Collaboration in designing and realizing future directions for University College Tilburg
  • Communication and coordination with the different departments and schools of Tilburg University about their contributions to the program
  • Monitoring student enrollments and selection processes
  • Supervise marketing and communication activities, internally and externally
  • Communication to students about developments in the program
  • Coordinate program evaluation and formal re-accreditation processes
  • Participate in activities from the national network of University Colleges

Qualifications 

The successful candidate has

  • A completed MSc or PhD in a domain relevant to the liberal arts and sciences program at Tilburg University (humanities & digital sciences, social & behavioral sciences, law, economics and business, or broader interdisciplinary or educational sciences)
  • Proven affinity with interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary education on societally relevant subjects
  • Ample experience with program management and quality monitoring in a higher education context, demonstrating a high quality standard
  • Demonstrable experience with innovation and transformation processes in education 
  • The ability to prioritize and communicate short- and long-term goals
  • A pro-active attitude and hands-on mentality
  • Strong communication, coordination, organization and social skills
  • Teaching experience and a university teaching qualification is a pré
  • Good command of written and spoken Dutch and English language

Conditions of employment

Terms of employment 
For this position, we offer:

  • A position based on 0.7-0.8 FTE (28 – 32  hours per week);
  • You receive a contract for 12 months. Continuation of this function is subject to performance and substantive need and availability of financial resources. 
  • A salary ranging from a minimum of 5247 to a maximum of 7305 gross per month for full time employment, based on UFO profile program manager 2 or 1 and salary scale 12 or 13 of the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. We have a transparent remuneration policy and the grading is based on education and relevant experience.
  • In addition to your monthly salary, you will receive 41 vacation days (for a 40-hour work week), a holiday allowance (8%), and a year-end bonus (8.3%). 
  • We reimburse the full cost of sustainable commuting: walking, cycling or public transportation.
  • We have a moving expenses scheme that makes it attractive to live close to the university. 
  • Employees from outside the Netherlands may be eligible for a tax-free allowance of 30% of their taxable wages. We will apply for this reimbursement for you;
  • Our Options Model allows you to choose from a variety of facilities at a tax advantage. In agreement with your supervisor, you can work in a hybrid manner: on campus and from home. 
  • You will be enrolled in the General Pension Fund for Public Employers (ABP) through us;
