Job description

As secretary you will be working at the secretariat of the Microbiology chair group. The secretariat currently consists of two secretaries, a financial officer and operational manager (supervisor). Together with your colleagues you will be responsible for a smooth administration. Despite having your own focus areas and assigned tasks, you are also able to fill-in for your colleague when needed.

Besides this you play an active role in the most common secretarial tasks, such as:
  • e-mail correspondence;
  • updating the personnel systems;
  • booking meeting rooms and catering;
  • ordering a variety of supplies and services;
  • keeping records up to date (WUR-accounts, office occupancy, supply stocks etc.);
  • administering student internships;
  • writing meeting minutes;
  • assist in travel requests, organizing small events and ad hoc tasks.

Requirements

Besides the above tasks we are also looking for someone who:
  • has a vocational education;
  • is willing to learn the structure of the university and its systems;
  • is feeling comfortable working with MS office programs (mostly, Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Teams and Sharepoint);
  • speaks both proficient Dutch and English;
  • and not unimportant, someone who sees what needs to be done!

In our international working environment, there is an increasing amount of communication in English. For this position it is about language level B2.

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between € 2618,- and € 3298,- for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 6). Initially, we offer you a one-year contract, which will then be extended to an open-ended contract if there is mutual enthusiasm. Of course, we would be happy to discuss this with you if you have any questions. Depending future needs, there could be an opportunity to expand your tasks and hours
